This was taken at a time where most humans could only afford a 1 or 2 megapixel digital camera, or at least were only willing to buy one of their kind, the kind of "quality" that these days you only find in affordable cellphones. My mate had one of these. There we were, in the middle of Piccadilly Circus, crowded as usual...As a good tourist (that happened to stay in London for two months) I always carried Rob's camera around. I wish I had a interesting story about the making of the picture...That she was my lover at the time, or that she was a good friend of mine...No, it was all accidental, a stranger just happened to cross the street at the time I was taking the picture and it turned out that she looks like she's standing still waiting for something...The strange brightness of the backround was probably a malfunction of the camera...Everything about it wispers in my head "unintentional". But it stood out to me, and still does. Not that the composition isn't "digital era", but I do think these digital camera compositions will have their vintage or "retro" charm in a decade or so..But then again, I could be way off, maybe high definition and IMAX is all mankind aims to love in the future. I must have taken hundreds of pictures, but this was the only one that survived, sadly I might ad. And on a curiosity note, a photoshop black and white "artsy" version of this was my first ever deviation here. I tend to think no one actually reads the artists comments, but if you read all of the above, I think I've succeded in boring you to tears. I really don't know why I wrote so much about this particular one, I guess it holds a special meaning to me...Why would I even bother sharing the experience with the world? I guess being on the internet has these moments where you trust everyone you'll never meet in your whole life and that they will actually care about what you have to say... Do I still wonder who the woman in the picture is? Well yes.
